Mini DVD camcorders are the smaller version of the regular sized camcorders that take DVD’s or movies of things like family and friends, children’s recitals, graduations and so on. The quality is the same on most models of the mini DVD camcorders as they are on the larger models, however, more people are opting for the mini versions because they can carry them in their purse, pocket or alongside their digital camera in a camera bag.
Mini DVD camcorders will play in a regular DVD player when you hook up the mini DVD recorder to your DVD player. It’s a simple thing to do and the picture quality is good depending on which brand you choose when you purchase the Mini DVD camcorder.
There are several good brands of Mini DVD camcorders available on the market today. Sony, Canon and Samsung are just a few that manufacture the smaller version of DVD camcorders. The mini DVD recorders save you time because you don’t have to transfer the information onto a disc to play in you DVD recorder, you simply plug in the recorder which has all the information stored inside it like a computer would. This also saves money on purchasing DVD’s to convert over the recorded images.
Since there is no ‘tape’ inside the mini DVD players, everything is on a menu and you simply look at the menu to find the frame you want. There is no longer the rewinding or fast forwarding to find exactly what you are looking for and people like this in addition to the small size and the fact there is no tape.
Depending on what brand and how much you are willing to spend, some mini camcorder DVD’s allow you to edit right on the recorder. Meaning you can stop and back up and record over something you didn’t like or if you are making a ‘film’ and someone messes up their ‘lines’ you can back up and have them say them again. A lot of teenagers today are documenting their lives through the use of mini camcorder DVD’s and this feature allows them to tape over and over something without having to rewind.
If you don’t have the capability of editing on the recorder, then you will have to purchase special software to be able to edit any of your recorded film. Sometime these special software packages come with the mini DVD camcorders and sometimes they are extra.
